About

Graham Projects was founded by Michael Graham in 1996 as a development company, whose primary interest was to develop shopping centers in rural markets. Our primary focus is investing in areas which have been identified through intensive research, local knowledge and past experience as areas with potential for growth.

Since 1996 the company has developed 4 very successful shopping centres in towns such as Richards Bay, Kwa-Mashu and Umzimkhulu.

About the founder: Michael Graham

Our Founder, Mike Graham, was educated at St. Andrews College, Grahamstown and after military service in the SA Navy he earned a B.Com at UPE and a MBA from UCT’s Graduate School of Business.

Mike’s first exposure to the world of construction was in 1983 when he became the Finance Director of Vista Homes. At that time they were the market leaders in building thousands of homes for the first time homeowners market on the East Rand.

This experience was later put to good use in fast tracking the construction of shopping centres where, for example, the 18000m2 Umzimkhulu Mall was built in ten months, six weeks ahead of schedule.

Mike continued in the housing market, in different ways, until 2001 when he made his first venture into the commercial property area. This was just the beginning and for the next decade, Mike and his team developed 4 incredibly successful shopping centres.  Having taken the decision to branch into residential developments, Mike is now our multi-tasking juggler, ensuring that every element of his retail and residential developments are revving the personalised attention to detail that he has become known for.
